Richmondville- Naomi L. Fancher, 81, of Main Street, died Saturday, January 6, 2007, at her residence following a long illness.
Mrs. Fancher was born December 7, 1925 in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of James and Sarah (Cody) DeBraccio.
She was employed at the N.Y. S. I. S. as a fingerprint reader until retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Fancher was an exempt member of the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and also a member of the American Legion Ralph Sperbeck Post #249 in Richmondville.
She married Lester G. Fancher on Nov. 9, 1946 and he predeceased her on December 21, 2004.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Elizabeth Herrin of Manchester, NH, and Laura Edwards of Worcester, NY; 2 sons: Lawrence Fancher of Front Royal, VA and Edward Fancher of Richmondville; a sister, Jeanne Hotaling of Cobleskill; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Tues., prior to the service. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
