Nancy Lyons

Richmondville- Nancy D. Lyons, 71, of West Main St., died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Albany Medical Center.

Born March 25, 1944 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Wendell and Irene (Bowers) Schwartz. Nancy was a lifelong area resident, graduating from the former Cobleskill Central School.

Nancy was employed at the former Ace Glove Factory in Richmondville of thirty years. She then worked as a certified nurse's aide at the former Eden Park Nursing Home in Cobleskill.

Nancy's greatest pleasure was spending time with her two grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Her sister predeceased her: Joyce Ladd and brother: Francis Swart.

Survivors include her daughter: Wendy (James) Decker of Seward and their two children, Emily and Jacob Decker; her sister: Linda Rundblad of Worcester, NY; and her companion: Giuseppe Calabro of Cobleskill.

A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, where a period of visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM prior to the service. Private graveside service will be in Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jeffrey Smith of Richmondville United Church.
