North Blenheim- Mildred C. King, 99, formerly of North Blenheim, died Thursday, October 4 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY, where she had been a resident for 2 years.
Born in Conesville, NY on June 25, 1913, she was the daughter of Gideon and Mildred (Smith) Case.
Mildred owned and operated Hotel Chapman in North Blenheim alongside her husband, Amos, for many years. She enjoyed being an Avon representative for 40+ years and had an extensive Avon collection.
Mildred was a member of the North Blenheim Presbyterian Church until its closing. She then regularly attended the United Methodist Church. Mildred was a member of the Blenheim Hose Company, Union Christian Society, and the North Blenheim Historical Society. She actively volunteered for many organizations in the area.
Mildred was an avid gardener with quite the green thumb for both flowers and vegetables. She always enjoyed visiting and being with her many friends.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Amos C. King, who died on November 19, 2000.
Survivors include 2 children: Wanda J. King of North Blenheim, and her fiance, H. Stuart Larson, Wayne D. King of Middleburgh; 2 grandsons, Brian and Timothy and 1 great-grandson; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., in Middleburgh, with Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the River View Rural Cemetery in North Blenheim. A period of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
