Milagros Diaz

Cobleskill- Milagros Diaz, 78, entered paradise on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Milagros was born on March 16, 1940 at Bellevue Hospital in New York City to the late Fructuoso and Petra Seda Rodriguez.  She is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Mariano Colon Diaz; her brothers, Rudy Walmart and Ruben Rodriguez; and her sister, Ruth LaSalle.  She has one surviving sister, France, who lives in PA with her husband, Cesar Marin.

Milagros has been a member at Calvary Assembly of God since 2008, and attended regularly until her ill health in 2016.

In the early 1970’s, her husband Mario and children, she moved the family from Brooklyn to Howes Cave.  In 1991, Milagros moved the family to Cobleskill.  At this time, she retired from being a Home Care Provider with Eleanor D. Roosevelt Foundation.  Milagros lived a full life of service to her God and community as she took in many adults with special needs for 23 years.

Survivors include her children: Frank Samuel (Milsa) Merced of Crestview, FL, Letty Merced of Cobleskill, Barbara (Manny) Mabee of Summit, Wanda (Carl) Bryant of Richmondville, Mario, Martin, and Nancy of Cobleskill; and four grandchildren: Vanessa (Darwin) Younap, Sammy Merced, Cerisa Merced, Anna (Keith) Thayer, Tommy (Julia) Bryant, and Nathan (Heather) Bryant; ten great-grandchildren:  Larissa, Tyler, Juzzy, Alexis Youngs, Vincent and Lucia Merced, Emma Thayer, and Noah, Bear, and Elizabeth Bryant.

Her passion and love was serving God and her family along with cooking for family and friends.  She also loved flowers, clocks, and cardinals.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Calvary Assembly of God, 960 Mineral Springs Road, Cobleskill.  Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church on Thursday, July 19th from 6 to 8 PM.  Burial will be in Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery.
