Michael Travis

Amsterdam- Michael S. Travis, 29, of Dewitt St., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born on May 30, 1990, in Memphis, TN, he is the son of Newton Travis and Joyce Jackson.

Michael had many hobbies which included rollerblading, and spending time with his children. He also loved being outdoors fishing and working outside. Michael had a heart of gold and  a very upbeat positive attitude. He always wanted to help or assist others if he could.

Michael was currently employed at Pet Smart in Amsterdam as a customer service representative and a stock clerk.

He is survived by his fiancé, Sage Mangiacapre and their unborn son, Bellamy; mother, Joyce Jackson; father, Newton (Lindy) Travis; sister, Ashley (Elmer) Banegas; brother, Gregory (Andrea) Travis; son, Cooper Travis; two daughters, Shyanna and Payton Travis; and maternal grandfather, Michael O’Neal.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 1-3 P.M at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill.  There will be no formal services.
