Michael Almy

Schenectady- Michael Almy, 56, of Front Street, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his residence.

Born November 3, 1964 in Smithtown, Long Island, he was the son of Carl Barefoot and Linda (Furstman) Almy.  Mike was raised and predeceased by his stepfather, Willard Almy, Jr.

A high school graduate, Mike was a self-employed federal housing inspector.  In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and was an antique collector.

Survivors include his mother, Linda (Chuck Slater) Almy of Cobleskill; his siblings: Jeff (Karen) Almy of Middleburgh, Terri (Bret) Hallenbeck of Toland, CT, Keith (Shannon) Almy of Sharon Springs, Tammy Kane of Cobleskill, Christopher (Gina) Almy of Colonie; Uncle James (Agnes) Furstman of Carlisle; nephews:  Josh (Nicole) Lindsay and Liam Kane all of Cobleskill; great-niece, Sophia Lindsay; great-nephew, Landon Turo; and several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 5 to 7PM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery in the Hillview Section.
