Meleese Masterson

Livingstonville- Mrs. Meleese D. Masterson, 89, formerly of Livingstonville, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
She was born September 8, 1918 in Cooksburg, the daughter of Osee T. and Maggie (Mulford) Mulbury.
Mrs. Masterson was a 1937 graduate of Greenville Central School and then married Francis W. Masterson on June 25, 1937. He predeceased her in 1994. They operated a dairy farm from 1943 to 1964 on Barton Hill Road and lived there until 1987 when they moved to Windy Ridge.
She completed her nurse's training in 1967 and became employed at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady where she was a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse, allowing her to dispense medication. Mrs. Masterson also worked on the neurosurgical ward and retired in 1987.
She was a member of the Livingstonville United Methodist Church, Livingstonville Ladies Auxiliary for the volunteer fire department, and the Middleburgh Golden Agers.
Mrs. Masterson had also worked on the board of elections for Gallupville.
She loved line dancing, nature, and all animals.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Masterson of Walpole, MA; 2 sons: Stephen Masterson of Gallupville, and Francis W.(Jan) Masterson, Jr. of Sharon Springs; a sister, Joyce Tanton of Guilderland; a brother, Marcel Mulbury of Port St. Lucy, FL.; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 3, at Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home 134 River St. Middleburgh with Rev. Carol Coltrain officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Thur. prior to the service. Burial will be in Potter Hollow Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingstonville Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.
