May Effner

May K. Effner, 82, formerly of Mill Valley Rd., died Thurs. Oct. 11, 2007 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home where she had lived since May of this year.

Mrs. Effner was born on Dec. 20, 1924 in New York, NY a daughter of the late John and Mabel Becker Gray. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed gardening, baking, bird watching and helping care for the family farm in West Middleburgh.

She was married to Robert B. Effner on Jan. 1, 1949 and was predeceased by him on June 7, 2003. Mrs. Effner was also predeceased by a brother, Joseph Gray.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Sat. Oct. 13, 2007 at the Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home, 134 River St. Middleburgh, NY. Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Middleburgh Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 10-11A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
