RICHMONDVILLE- Maurice "Whitey" Schrader, 85, formerly of Main Street in Richmondville, died Saturday, July 19, 2008.
Mr. Schrader was born December 31, 1922 in Sharon, NY and was the son of Harvey and Marian (Mallett) Schrader.
He was the owner of Whitey's Water Wells in Sharon, NY and prior to that was employed at Harder Silo, erecting silo's throughout the area. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks # 2040 and a past Board Member of the Slate Hill Cemetery in Sharon.
He was predeceased by his wife Nellie, who died in 1978, 3 sisters, Beatrice Smullen, Carrie Hoyt, Elma Oltman, and 3 brothers, Bert , Evans and Nicholas Schrader.
Mr. Schrader is survived by 5 sisters, Crystal Cartwright of Schenectady, Ruth Friedow of Schenectady, Dorothy Egnaczyk of Sharon, Beverly Miner of Ft. Plain, Shirley Bailey of Richmondville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Gary Emister of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery in Sharon.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice to benefit children.
