Hagaman- Mary Jo M. McCullough, 54, of County Highway 132, formerly of Middleburgh, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born October 13, 1960 in Schenectady she was the daughter of Betty (Fuchs) Karlau and George Weaver.
Mary Jo graduated from Middleburgh Central School and continued her education receiving a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology.
She began her career as a Residence Counselor and House Manager at the River Street House for the Schoharie County ARC. Mary Jo became employed at Four Winds in Saratoga for many years as case manager/therapist and was loved and respected by her fellow workers and patients that she served.
Mary Jo loved garage sales and spending time with their special neighbors, Dawn and Mike Reff.
Survivors include her husband: Harold McCullough, whom she married May 2, 1987; her mother: Betty (William) Karlau of Schoharie; father: George (Sue) Weaver of Cornwallville; three step-sons: Christopher McCullough of Coffeyville, KS, Kevin McCullough of Atlanta, GA, and Keith McCullough of San Antonio, TX; her aunt: Marilyn Nolte of Middleburgh; two uncles: Frank (Carol) Fuchs and Paul (Suzanne) Fuchs, all of Middleburgh; cousins: Michael (Lindsey) Fuchs of Middleburgh and Todd Nolte of Charlestown, W VA, Haley Disbury of Middleburgh; and several other relatives.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Four Winds for the support to Mary Jo this past year. In addition, her family is grateful to the nurses, Amanda and Marianne at St. Mary's Hospital, along with Dr. Knudsen and the Palliative Care Unit and Mountain Valley Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Main St., Middleburgh. Father Matthew Wettsel will be celebrant. A period of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Spring interment will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.
