Mary Iorio

Cobleskill- Mrs. Mary L. Iorio, 88, of Madison Ave., died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Iorio was born January 20, 1919 in Geneva, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Gallagher) Lesnau.
Mrs. Iorio was a graduate of St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Jersey City, NJ. She served in World War II as a Lieutenant Nurse in the Navy Corps. Mrs. Iorio moved to Cobleskill in 1951 with her husband. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at the former Cobleskill Community Hospital for 18 years before retiring.
She was a former member of the American Legion Post 57 in Cobleskill and was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Her husband, Albert (Nick) Iorio predeceased her on Nov. 8, 1990, and her sister, Marjorie Sabine also predeceased her.
Survivors include her son, William Albert Iorio of Orlando, FL and a sister, Ruth Duchaney of Geneva, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 7 at 12:00PM (noon) at St. Vincent de Paul Church 138 Washington Ave. Cobleskill. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill.
Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
