Mary Farrell

: Mary M. Farrell, 97, formerly of Middleburgh, NY, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY where she had resided since 2003.

Mrs. Farrell was born on December 21, 1911 in Tarmonbarry, Rosscommon, Ireland, a daughter of the late Catherine (Dennigan) and Patrick Kelly.
She emigrated in 1928 from Rosscommon Ireland to America. She owned and operated The Rose Beauty Shop in Ozone Park, NY for many years and summered at the family's Gates Hill home before moving there permanently in the 1970's. Mrs. Farrell enjoyed cooking and was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh, NY. She was predeceased by a son, Jack Farrell in 1983 and by her husband, Patrick Farrell in 1985 and also by 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Mrs. Farrell is survived by her daughter, Marion Noone of Middleburgh, NY and her son, Roger Farrell of Middleburgh, NY, 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 22, 2009 at St. Catherine's Church, Main St., Middleburgh, NY. Celebrant will be Father Thomas Holmes. Burial will follow in Breakabeen Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
