Middleburgh- Mary De Castole, 86, of Donlan Heights Road, died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her daughter's residence where she has lived for the past four years.
Born October 19, 1929 in Brownsville, TX, she was the daughter of Gus and Marie (Fierro) Bidos.
Mary retired from East River Savings Bank in Huntington, NY where she worked in customer service.
She was of strong catholic faith and was active in her local church. Mary lived most of her married life in North Babylon, but was residing in Vero Beach, FL prior to moving to her daughter's home.
Her husband, Theodore R. Olander; her son, Theodore Olander; and two sisters predeceased her: Catherine and Irene Bidos.
Survivors include her three daughters: Helen (Paul) Olander-Frank of Saugerties, Virginia (Rob) Sefcik of Middleburgh, and Elizabeth Olander of Cobleskill; a daughter-in-law, Robin Olander of East Islip; five grandchildren: Kerri McIntyre, Amie Murphy, Cassandra Olander, Ted Olander, and Nicole Olander; two great-grandchildren: Mary and Ruby McIntyre; several nieces and nephews; and two additional great-grandchildren soon to be born.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh where a prayer service will be held at 7:45PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11 AM at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
