Mary Brooker

Cobleskill- Mary Jane Brooker, 80, formerly of Cobleskill, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Otsego Manor, Town of Otsego, NY.

Born June 10, 1930 in Eminence, NY, Mary Jane was the daughter of Wallace J. and Mary (Wilday) Hollenbeck.

Mary Jane had lived in Schoharie County most of her life. She attended the former Richmondville Central School and had been employed at the Laundry Basket, where she was an attendant.

She married LeRoy Brooker on August 21, 1948 and he predeceased her on June 2, 1992.

For twenty-three years they resided in East Worcester and then moved back to Schoharie County.

Survivors include her two daughters: Barbara (Fred) VanValkenburg of Summit and Jeannine Davis of Canajoharie; and her three grandchildren: Anthony VanValkenburg of Summit, Nathan Davis of Clifton Park and Kayla Davis, US Navy, stationed in San Diego, CA

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home on Tues. from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
