Cobleskill- Mrs. Marion I. Marshall, 90, of Valley Court, died Tues., March 23, 2010 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Born June 6, 1919 at the Beekman Mansion family farm homestead in Sharon Springs, she was a daughter of Burdette and Ella (Mattice) Hotaling.
Mrs. Marshall graduated from the former Cobleskill Central School and was employed at the former VanDeusen Dress Shop in Cobleskill. She retired as head cook at Prentice Hall, SUNY Cobleskill after twenty-five years of employment.

Marion was one of the original founders of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aeires of Cobleskill #2695 Ladies Auxiliary and had been a charter member. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, flowers, gardening, and crocheting.

She married Bert Schrader March 26, 1938 and he predeceased her on March 25, 1965, and then married Henry Marshall on February 15, 1975 and he predeceased her on May 29, 1979. She was also predeceased by her son, Richard Schrader of PA, her sisters: Violet Vrooman, Shirley Holmes, Golda Stanley, Nellie Anderson, Clara Hotaling and brothers: Harold, Lester, David, Walter, and Burdette Hotaling.

Survivors include her daughters: Eleanor (Alfred) Higgins of Cobleskill, Elsie (Arthur) Wall of Canajoharie, Phyllis (Joseph) Sisson of Carlisle, Catherine Edholm of Richmondville, and Laura (Robert) Slater of Suffolk, VA; sons: Joseph (Mary) Schrader of Newton, NC, Roger (Kathleen) Schrader of Sharon Springs, Clarence (Patricia) Schrader of Sloansville, Thomas Schrader of Sharon Springs, Andrew (Lavina) Schrader of Clarksville, TN, and Kenneth (Jana) Schrader of Sharon Springs; a sister, Daisy (Herbert) Miller of FL., two sisters-in-law: Francis (Burdette) Hotaling of Cobleskill and Wilma (Walter) Hotaling of Sharon Springs; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Lawyersville Reformed Church, State Route 145, Lawyersville, NY. Co-officiating will be Rev. Pacia Ferrell Vamvas and Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
