Marion Mahar

Hyndsville- Marion B. Mahar, 90, of Kingsway Nursing Home, formerly of Hyndsville, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Ellis Hospital.
Mrs. Mahar was born November 9, 1917 in Cobleskill the daughter of William S. and Gertrude (Eldredge) Bates.
She was a lifelong area resident and retired from the Cobleskill Central School in 1982 after 25 years of service as a cafeteria worker.
Mrs. Mahar was an active member in the Hyndsville United Methodist Church for many years. She had always been very involved with her family.
Mrs. Mahar married John P. Mahar on August 20, 1944 and he predeceased her on June 23, 2005.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Philip and Laurel Mahar of Schenectady; 3 grandsons: Michael (Kristen) Mahar of Chicago, IL; David (Patricia) Mahar of Schenectady, and Jason Mahar of Greece, NY; a granddaughter: Jenelle Mahar of Schenectady; 4 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Brian, and Erin Mahar, and Alexandria Kirk.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 7, 2008, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Rev. Franklyn Wright officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM on Monday prior to the service. Burial will follow in Zion Rural Cemetery, Seward, NY.
