Barnerville - Marion T. King, 87, of Barnerville, died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.
Born November 4, 1925 in Cobleskill, Marion was the daughter of Charles and Lela (Tator) Terpening. She was a lifelong area resident, raising her family in Barnerville.
Marion retired after many years working in the clerical department of the former Kenneth Fake Insurance Agency in Cobleskill.
She was a member of the Barnerville United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher.
Marion married Roger I. King, Sr. on October 11, 1942. She was a loving and devoted wife for forty-one years, until his death in June of 1983.
In her leisure time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords and watching Judge Judy.
Survivors include her two children: Sharon (Ray) Althiser and Roger I. King, Jr., of Richmondville; three sisters: Ada Wayman of Barnerville, Dorothy Brumaghim of Hyndsville, and Catherine Orth of Warnerville; five grandchildren: Ray (Missy) Althiser, Jr., Ronnie Althiser, Roger (Amanda) Althiser, Rodney (Jennifer) Althiser, and Adam King; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery in the Spring. Calling hours are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Barnerville United Methodist Church, PO Box 184, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
