Carlisle- Mrs. Marion E. Hoyt, 90, of Little York Road, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at her residence.
Mrs. Hoyt was born August 2, 1915 in Boston, MA the daugher of Herman G. and Frances (Wilson) Gauthier. She had lived in this area most of her married life. For 15 years, Mrs. Hoyt was a photographer for the New York State Police Barracks in Albany. For over 50 years she operated Marion's Photography Studio from her own home.
At the age of 80, she completed her associate's degree in Travel and Resort Marketing at SUNY Cobleskill.
Mrs. Hoyt was a member of the former Community Hospital Auxiliary in Cobleskill for several years.
She was predeceased by a son, Larry Leonard Hoyt USMCPFC, who was killed in action on February 10, 1968, during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include her husband, Harold H. Hoyt, whom she married May 19, 1946; and her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Laura Hoyt of Carlisle.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, June 8, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. A private graveside service will be held at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
