Middleburgh- Marie J. Eberli, 88, of Middleburgh, NY passed away on April 15, 2016 with her family by her side.

She was born April 6, 1928 in the Canton of Appenzell, Switzerland. After briefly living and working in England, she moved to the States in 1959. She married Frank Eberli in 1960. Frank & Marie moved the family and European-style meat market from Queens to the pastoral Schoharie Valley town of Middleburgh in 1969. After their retirement, Marie was able to spend time and talents traveling, gardening, knitting, and rug hooking. She was a member of the 'Always on Wednesdays Hookers'. With assistance from Home-Health Care Partners, she was able to remain comfortably at home in her final months.

Marie is survived by her husband, Frank Eberli of Middleburgh, NY, and three children: Barbara Hamlin and husband Michael of Burnt Hills, NY; Daniel Eberli and wife Liza of Ludlow, MA; and Madelaine Eberli Moskowitz and husband Geoff residing in Moscow, Russia. Five grandchildren also survive her: Olivia, Hannah and Jacob Eberli and Ivan and Mikaela Moskowitz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1pm, Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Middleburgh with Rev. Matthew Wetsel as celebrant. There will be no calling hours and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Pantry of Middleburgh, P.O. Box 112, Middleburgh, New York 12122 or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
