Marian Maurice

Richmondville- Marian J. Maurice, 80, formerly of Richmondville, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford with her family at her side.

Born July 15, 1937 in East Cobleskill, Marian was the daughter of Franklin and Grace (Wilday) Myers.  She was a lifelong area resident only moving to the nursing home the past year.

Marian was a machine operator at REMS in Richmondville for twenty years before retiring.  She was a member of the former St. Anna’s Catholic Church in Summit.

On June 6, 1959, Marian married Emile and he predeceased her on October 6, 2006.  Her son, Andre, also died on March 26, 2014.

Survivors include her two daughters:  Karen Possemato of Sharon Springs and Maria Jones of Cobleskill; her brother, Franklin Myers of Cobleskill; four grandchildren:  William Borthwick, Jr., Kayla (Zachary) Mahoney, Matthew Jones, and Sarah Jones; two great-grandchildren:  Hannah and Andrew Mahoney; and her favorite aide at the nursing home, Scarlet.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to precede the service from 10 to 11 AM.  Inurnment will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
