Cobleskill- Mrs. Marian V. Latham, 93, of Spring Street, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at her residence.
Mrs. Latham was born July 12, 1914 in Cobleskill, the daughter of George and Lulu (Groff) VanBuren. She was a lifelong area resident, graduating in 1933 from the former Cobleskill Central School. She continued her education and graduated from Elly Business Institute in Albany. In 1979, Mrs. Latham retired from the NY State United Teachers where she was employed in the research department.
She was a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church and had served as a trustee on the church board. Mrs. Latham was also a volunteer for the auxiliary at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alonzo Latham, who died in 1960.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. Officiating will be Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Richmondville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
