Margie Jones

Margie A. Jones, 83, of Lawyersville Road died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born January 22, 1935 in Seward, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Stanton) Hollenbeck.

Margie was a longtime employee of the former Wohl’s Department Store and Mart Cleaners as a seamstress and clerk.  In her later years she was an office clerk at Hammerstone Village Apartments.

A woman who loved to shop and complete her word search, she found the most comfort and joy when she was with her family.

Margie was a member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church.

Survivors include her children:  Vickie (Arthur) Chichester and Karen (Milton) Matice  of Cobleskill, Gerald Robert (Tracey) Jones of Euphrata, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald R. Jones, in 2007.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation that will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home with Gary Morgan officiating.  Burial will be in Lawyersville Cemetery.
