Margaret Richards

Cobleskill- Margaret Richards, at the age of 96, passed away gracefully, on her own terms, to be with her Lord, her husband, Phil, and son, Bob, on January 2, 2014.

Margaret left this world a better place by her generosity to many charities, her love of family, and commitment to her faith.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Phil, of 62 years, and her eldest son, Bob.

Margaret leaves behind her son: Mark (Patricia) Richards of Carlisle; her daughter-in-law: Gail Richards of Shirley, Long Island; her grandchildren: William Andrew Richards, Robert Richards, and Jason Richards and her cousin, Elsie, from Florida.

She was an avid reader, baker, and bowler, loved cruising the Caribbean, taking care of her family, and keeping an immaculate house.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Dr. Gary Surman, Deacon of St. Vincent de Paul Church, officiating. Inurnment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

In keeping with her charitable spirit, memorial contributions may be made to a veteran's organization in her name.
