Margaret Karker

Cobleskill- Margaret L. Karker, age 77, of Cobleskill, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 2, 1941 in Carlisle, a daughter of the late Merton D. and Margaret L. (Ottman) Karker.

Margaret was a graduate of Cobleskill schools and received her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Lawrence University. She attended Maria College and then obtained her Master’s Degree from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Karker was employed for many years as the Systems Analyst Supervisor for North Carolina Electric and Gas until her retirement. Margaret was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church where she devoted her talents and efforts to the Church Food Pantry and Bible Study. She also served on the Board of Trustees of the Church

She is survived by one brother, Charles Karker of Fort Plain, NY; one sister, Sue-Ann Karker of Cobleskill, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, 107 Chapel Street, Cobleskill with Rev. Anna Blinn Cole officiating.

Interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery immediately following the service.
