Margaret Hayes

Middleburgh- Margaret A. Hayes, 60, of Papoose Path, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born February 12, 1957 in Cooperstown, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Viola (Stinson) Vogelien.

Margaret graduated from Schoharie Central School and continued her education to receive her associate's degree.

She was employed as a secretary at SUNY Cobleskill for over thirty years.

A strong, independent woman, she took pride in maintaining and working on her home.

Margaret was the devoted mother to Taylor Hayes of Orlando, FL, and Montana Hayes of New York City; and sister to Dale Vogelien of Kennesaw, Ga.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with Father Matthew Wetsel, of Our Lady of the Valley in Middleburgh, presiding. Inurnment will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend a period of visitation from 10AM to 11AM on Wednesday, prior to the service.
