Richmondville- Margaret A. Erland, 78, of Bear Gulch Rd., died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY after a brief illness.
Mrs. Erland was born December 31, 1930 in Oceanside, Long Island, New York and was the daughter of Fred and Lucille (Mott) Oettinger.
She moved to Richmondville with her family in 1982 and was a former member of the Lutheran Church of Port Jefferson on Long Island and the Church of the Good Shepard in West Richmondville, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, a member of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at the former Community Hospital of Schoharie County.
Mrs. Erland is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Calvin D. Erland, whom she married on November 2, 1947, her daughter, Carolyn Bustinza of New Braimfels, TX, her son, Robert Erland of Stamford, NY, her Granddaughter, Melodie Brawer of Boston, MA, and her half-sister, Dorothy Nolan of St. George, UT.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Donald Klob officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6 - 8 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Southampton Cemetery on Long Island.
