Richmondville- Margaret D. Boughton, 90, of Holmes St., died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her residence while under the care of her family and hospice.

Born June 20, 1929 in Summit, she was the daughter of Warner and Lulu (Davis) Peck.

Margaret was a silk screen technician at Wheaton Plastics in Mays Landing, NJ for several years, but primarily she was a mother, wife and homemaker.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, sewing, crocheting and gardening.  Margaret found pleasure in entertaining family and friends and traveling with her husband to visit friends and family throughout the countryside.

A member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Margaret also volunteered in various capacities at the church.

On November 23, 1954, she married Donald Boughton and he predeceased her on April 6, 2013.   Her daughter, Diane Boughton Hummel, also predeceased her.

Survivors include her two sons:  Rene Boughton of Richmondville and Kevin Boughton of Punta Gorda, FL; six grandchildren:  Kelly Boughton, Robert Hummell, Barbara Hummell, Nathan Boughton, Kevin Boughton, Jr., and Tiffany Boughton; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Richmondville Rural Cemetery with Rev. Ken Simurro officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 491, Richmondville, NY 12149.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
