Margaret Becker

Cobleskill- Margaret Becker, 91, of State Route 10, died Sunday, December 19, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 23, 1930, in the hamlet of Patria, she was the daughter of Anton and Elinor (Stanton) Nirschl.

Margaret was a 1949 graduate of Sharon Springs Central School.  Margaret served as Postmaster from 1972 to1992 in Lawyersville and also assisted in the daily operations of the dairy farm from 1976 until 1996.

Margaret was a member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church where she served as a deacon and an elder.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Edward C. Becker, Sr on February 24, 2010, and her son, Edward C. Becker, Jr. on November 18, 2014.

Survivors include her children: Christine Hibbard of Cobleskill and Arnold (Donna) Becker of Cobleskill; her siblings: Betty Cullen, Beverly (Robert) Kachmarik, Allan (Joan) Nirschl, Edwin (Kathy) Nirschl, David (Linda) Nirschl, Stephen (Barbara) Nirschl and Susan (Gary) Davis; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Lawyersville Reform Church, PO Box 421, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
