Oneonta- Mandar S. Gebhard, 25, formerly of Milford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
Born May 24, 1987 in Puna, India, he was the son of Kathleen Sabia and Michael Gebhard.
Mandar had a love for baseball and while playing in the Milford Little League, he was selected as Rookie of the Year. He continued his baseball career, playing modified and varsity baseball for Milford CSD, and most recently was active in the Oneonta Softball League.
Mandar also enjoyed turkey hunting and playing racquetball.
Since 2005 he has been employed at Custom Electronics in Oneonta.
Survivors include his mother, Kathleen Sabia of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his father and step-mother: Michael and Gloria Gebhard of Middleburgh; brother: Matthew Gebhard of Sunnyside, NY; two sisters: Sujata Gebhard of Endicott, Mary Gebhard of Middleburgh; a step-sister: Chelsea Gentner, Middleburgh; three step-brothers: Ethan Gentner of Middleburgh, Russell Gentner (Cassy) of Latham, and Michael (Amy) Gentner of Middleburgh; paternal grandmother: Kathaleen Putman of Jefferson; maternal grandparents: Richard and Barbara Sabia of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Middleburgh United Methodist Church, Main St., Middleburgh, with Rev. Jeff Rauhauser officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church an hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM Sat. Inurnment will be private in Jefferson Evergreen Cemetery.
