COBLESKILL- Madelyn J. Casper, 82, formerly of Main Street in Richmondville, NY died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Eden Park Healthcare Center in Cobleskill after a long illness.
She was born May 9, 1924 in Richmondville, NY and was the daughter of Leslie D. and Ella N. (Empie) Joslyn.
Mrs. Casper was a lifelong Schoharie County resident and a homemaker to her husband of 57 years, Howard W. Casper, whom she married on June 24, 1945 and predeceased her on October 16. 2002.
She graduated from the former Richmondville Central School in 1942, also a graduate of the Mildred Elley Secretarial School and a member of the United Methodist Church of Richmondville.
Mrs. Casper is survived by a sister-in-law, Thelma (Proper) Joslyn and a brother-in-law, Reginald Casper of VeroBeach, FL as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, October 2, 2006 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Richmondville Methodist Church officiating. A calling hour will be from 10-11:00 am before the service. Burial will be in Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery.
