Cobleskill- Madelon P. Morey, 82, of Shady Tree Lane, died on Saturday, May 14, 2022, following years of declining health.
Born August 6, 1939, in Brooklyn, she was the only child of Augustus and Alice (Johnson) Hild.
Madelon was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and held various jobs prior to last occupation as a clerk for Schoharie County Dept. of Social Services for several years.
In her younger years, she and her husband enjoyed camping at Sacandaga, Twin Oaks and Hide-A-Way campsites. Her hobbies include ceramics, flower gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels.
She was the loving wife of Donald E. Morey for 63 years; treasured mother to Donald P. (Wendy) Morey of Cobleskill and Todd Morey of Broadalbin; cherished grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Madelon was predeceased by her two sons: Christopher, who died July 1, 2012, and Jeffrey "Duff" Morey, who died May 12, 2021.
A graveside service will be held privately for the family at Zion Rural Cemetery in the town of Seward, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY.
