Breakabeen- Mrs. Madeline L. Warner, 85, formerly of Breakabeen, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Mrs. Warner was born February 8, 1924 in the Town of Fulton, Schoharie County. She was a daughter of Arthur and Madeline (Klauser) Clissold.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Warner at one time was employed at ALCO in Schenectady. Later she was a store clerk for the former Elm Store in both Schoharie and Middleburgh, which was more recently Cleary's in Middleburgh, until her retirement.
Mrs. Warner was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Schoharie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Warner, who died in 1993 and a brother, Arthur Clissold, who died in 1972.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law: Kay and Donald Phelan of Warnerville; five nieces: Janet Upton, Patricia Williams, Joan Flynn, Nancy Spenello, and Julie Fancher; and three nephews: Arthur Joseph Clissold, Michael Phelan, and David Phelan.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Officiating will be Father Thomas Holmes of St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh. Burial will follow in Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie. Friends are invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM, prior to the service.
