Madeline Cooper

Cobleskill- Madeline B. Cooper, 86 of Iroquois Drive, died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a long illness.

Born February 20, 1929 in Suffern, she was the daughter of Alvin and Ella (Doremos) Hastings.

Following high school graduation, Madeline was a mail carrier of Lederle Laboratories in Nanuet, NY and later she was a caregiver at Letchworth Village in Theles.

She married Irving Richard Cooper, Sr. on February 20, 1954.

Madeline loved her cats. For many years, she suffered with leukemia.

She was a loving mother to Debra Ann Cooper Sellick and Irving Richard "Rich" Cooper, Jr., both of Cobleskill; two grandsons: Anthony Mark Lee, Jr. of Richfield Springs and Robert Louis Cohn of South Carolina; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will precede at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Sara Litzner of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cobleskill. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 125 Granite Dr., Suite 1, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
