Cobleskill- Madeline C. Cooper, 81, formerly of Cobleskill, died Friday, June 2, 2023 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam where she had been a resident for the past several years.
Born April 5, 1942 in Central Bridge, she was the daughter of Chauncey L. and Ethel L. (Diamond) Cooper. Madeline was a lifelong area resident and for 19 years she lived with her sister, Yvonne.
Madeline enjoyed taking walks, picnicing, and loved music and singing. Her favorite television programs were Gunsmoke and Lawrence Welk. She attended Calvary Assembly of God Church and thought it was great hugging everyone in attendance. Most of all, she loved celebrating her birthday and holidays, especially Christmas with all the decorations.
Madeline was predeceased by her siblings and sister-in-law: Chet Cooper, Wayne Cooper Sr., George and Debbie Cooper, Eugene Cooper and Marlin "Mic" Cooper and brother-in-law, Douglas Blodgett.
She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Blodgett of Cobleskill; brother, Greg (Mary) Cooper of Schenevus; sisters-in-law: Mary Cooper of Pittsfield, VT and Wanda Cooper of Cobleskill and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12PM on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Dr. Rev. Raymond Richards officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 11AM to 12PM. Burial will follow in Central Bridge Cemetery.
