Mabel Shaul

Middleburgh- Mabel M. Shaul, 97, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at West Jacksonville Care and Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville, FL.

Born in the town of Fulton on August 28, 1918, she was the daughter of Fannie (Dickinson) and Perry Effner. Mabel married Merton C. Shaul on June 25, 1936 and he predeceased her in 1994.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed selling her vegetables on her road stand and watching and caring for her grandchildren.

Mrs. Shaul was also predeceased by her son: Perry Shaul, Sr.; infant daughter: Nina Marie Shaul; sisters: Ida Martin and Helen Irving; brother, Robert Effner; grandson: Shane Shaul; granddaughters: Alanna (Shaul) Scara and Heather Shaul; and one great-grandson: Boston Lacy.

Survivors include her daughters: Bernice (Martin) Lacy of Jacksonville, FL, and Winifred (Raymond) Kennedy of Schoharie; son: Alan (Pearl) Shaul of Middleburgh; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; thirty-one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Middleburgh Cemetery with Rev. Carol Coltrain from the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. A celebration of life will be held at 12PM on Saturday, August 6, at the Middleburgh United Methodist Church social hall.
