Lucy Cummings
Middleburgh-Lucy A. Cummings, 78, of Keyserkill Road, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Born July 17, 1935 in Central Bridge, she was the daughter of Daniel and Barbara (Haughabone) Beacraft.
Lucy was a lifelong area resident and was a nurse's aide for several years at the former Mountain View Manor Home for Adults in Middleburgh.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, whom she married July 25, 1953, and he died in 1982 and their son, David Cummings.
Survivors include her four children: Debra (Merritt) Jackson of Middleburgh, Lawrence (Helen) Cummings, Jr. of Middleburgh, William Roy Cummings (Alice) of Duanesburg, and Bruce A. Cummings (Pamela) of Middleburgh; two sisters: Leah Swint of E. Berne and Rosemary (William) Flintcroft of Saranac; four grandchildren: Ryan Timothy Jackson, Rebecca McCann, Larry Cummings, III, and AnnMarie Cummings; and four great-grandchildren: Alex Jackson, Kimberly and David McCann, and Mackenzie Cummings.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with Rev. Neil Irwin officiating. A period of visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM. Private inurnment will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
