Louise Maher

Louise F. Maher, 87, formerly of Whiting, NJ, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, NY.

Born January 2, 1930 in Italy, she was the daughter of Joseph and Angela (Berti) Fogagnoli.

Louise was a World War II bride to David C. Maher.  She studied to be a seamstress and chose to be a domestic engineer, being a devoted mother, and for the past 54 years, loved and cared for her handicap daughter, Nancy.  Louise would travel with her family to upstate New York each year, thoroughly enjoying her vacation time spent here.

She is survived by her three children:  Karen Maher and Nancy Maher both of Cobleskill, and John Maher; two grandchildren:  Brielle Mompere and Krystan Mompere, both of Essex Fells, NJ.  Louise was predeceased by her husband, David, on Jan. 23, 2010 and was the last survivor of the 14 children in the Fogagnoli family.

A private graveside service will be held at Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171  Elm St., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
