Middleburgh - Louis Munzo, Jr., 81, of Mill Valley Road, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 4, 1930 in Middleburgh, Louis was a son of Louis and Etta (Finch) Munzo. He resided in Middleburgh all his life.

Louis retired in 1992 from Northeastern Industrial Park in Guilderland where he was a machine operator for over twenty years.

His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. His hobbies included crotcheting dolls and blankets and watching Stephen King movies. Louis also did volunteer work at the former Armlin's Army and most recently for the flood victims at the Cobleskill Donation Center.

He was baptized at the Valley Bible Baptist Church in Middleburgh.

Louis was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Lamont) Munzo in 1993.

Survivors include his four children: Deforest (Eunice) Munzo of Schoharie, Roy (Sue) Munzo of New Smyrna, FL, Donna Munzo of Albany, and John (Jayne) Munzo of Middleburgh; his siblings: Jane Munzo of Schenectady, Flora Case of Preston Hollow, Joan Bennett of Oak Hill, Bob Munzo of Shenectady, Ike Munzo of Catskill, Bill Munzo of Berne, John Munzo of MA, and Hank Munzo of Middleburgh; seven grandchildren: Christopher Munzo of Edgewater, FL, Stacey and Jennifer Munzo both of New Smyrna, FL, Joshua Dygert of Fort Plain, NY, Megan Foland of Gilboa, Shelby and Shauna Munzo both of Middleburgh; and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Sodom Hill Cemetery, Schoharie, NY.
