Lissy Honauer
Schoharie- Lissy A. Honauer, 89, formerly of Schoharie, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY.
Born November 25, 1925 in Germany, she was the daughter of Otto and Amanda (Peters) Klug.
Lissy immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of two and then returned to Germany in 1939. In 1947, she came back to the U.S. and resided in Great Neck for forty years until moving to Hyde Park where she lived with her cousin, Laura. Lissy moved to Schoharie in 2006 and then to Robinson Terrace Assisted Living in 2012.
She was a self-employed housekeeper and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was of Lutheran faith.
Survivors include her son: Gunther Honauer (Deborah Fairbairn) of Middleburgh; three grandchildren: Gunther Honauer, Amanda Tessarvik, and Mary Kate Honauer; and three great-grandchildren: Lily, Anna, and Emily Tessarvik.
A service will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 125 Granite Dr., Suite 1, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer &Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh and Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
