Summit- Lisette B. Stinson, 72, of Summit, formerly of Centereach, NY, passed away Friday, February 14th, 2014, at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Lisette was born October 21st 1941 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Theresa and Emiel Catalano. She graduated from Syosset High School 1959 and was married to Wayne R. Stinson in 1962. She was initially employed in the Financial District in New York City. Trained in Accounting bookkeeping, she subsequently worked for an electronics manufacturing firm in Syosset, NY.

The couple relocated to Summit, NY in 1985. Lisette quickly joined her new community, finding employment in her field with the Business Office of the Schoharie Central Schools, and subsequently, Max Rua Tire and the Schoharie County Arts Council. She made many acquaintances and developed friendships participating in the Cobleskill Bowling Leagues, Seniors Clubs and as a volunteer for the Cobleskill Regional Hospital Auxiliary, serving in the Coffee Shop for many years.

Lisette greatly enjoyed cooking, sewing and crafting. She was an accredited teacher in ceramics and was most proud of the many lace draped porcelain dolls she created. She made many of her own clothes and took special pleasure in passing these skills on to the children, particularly the grandchildren in recent years. She was an athlete, participating in softball leagues in earlier years, bowling and pickleball more recently.

Lisette is predeceased by her parents and her sister Vicky. She is survived by her husband, a son, Wayne A. Stinson of Summit, a daughter, Tina M. Stinson of Baldwinsville, NY, a sister, Andrea Cavalaro of Beverly Hills, Florida, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life remembrance will be held 7 PM Wednesday, February 26th at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Cobleskill Regional Hospital Auxiliary, 178 Grandview Dr., Cobleskill, NY 12043, or Catskill Area Hospice, 795 East Main St., Suite 11, Cobleskill, NY 12043 are suggested.
