Leroy Sherman Stanton, 82, of Gloversville, went to be with the Lord March 17, 2011 at Albany Medical Center.
Born July 20, 1928 in Barnerville, he was the son of LeRoy D. and Lillian (Hotaling) Stanton.
LeRoy graduated from the former Cobleskill Central School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He served from 1946 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1948. In 1950 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country until receiving an honorable discharge in 1953.
He then became employed by Lederle's Pharmaceutical in Pearl River, NY until his retirement. Anyone who knew Roy knew he loved his Harley.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly, and an infant, along with his second wife, Rachel and a niece, Lisa.
He is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife, Ellen; nephews, Lee and his wife, Linda, Keith and wife, Mindy, along with seven great-nephews and nieces and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery. At the family's request, a private visitation was held.
