Summit- Leonard J. Kammerer, 89, of Bear Gulch Road, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Albany County Nursing Home.
Born August 27, 1925 in Hoboken, NJ, he was the son of John L. and Loretta (Sherman) Kammerer.
Leonard was a United States Navy veteran, proudly serving his country from 1943 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1946.
For many years, he was a sales representative for FASCO in New York City. Upon retirement, he moved to Summit with his family.
Survivors include his son: John Kammerer of Colonie; sister: Madeline Gardner of CA; nephew: Richard Gardner of CA; and his two grandchildren: Jose and Jessica Kammerer.
Private inurnment will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
