Lena Collins

Stamford- Lena M. Collins, 85, formerly of Middleburgh, died Friday, May 19, 2006, at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY, where she had been a resident since 1997.
Mrs. Collins was born July 13, 1920 in the Town of Broome, and was the daughter of Lawrence and Alice (Foland) LaMont.
She was a lifelong Schoharie County resident, working many years as a Kindergarten Aide at Middleburgh Central Schools and was a member of the Middleburgh United Methodist Church. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Raymond "Sonny" Collins, one daughter, Loretta Smith, and one son, Lawrence Drinon..
Mrs. Collins is survived by one daughter, Lucy Bohringer of Fultonham, NY and one son, John (Jig) Drinon of Middleburgh, NY, 8 randchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren, one sister, Bessie Roney of Guilderland Center, NY.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at the Palmer and Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY with the Rev. Carol Coltrain, of the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. The public may call from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery.
