Schenectady- Lawrence William DeSanto, 59, of Schenectady died Wednesday March 25, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 14, 1961 in Amityville, NY, he was one of eight children to Anthony Lawrence and Pauline Josephine (Husar) DeSanto.
Lawrence graduated from Farmingdale High School, in 1980 and went on to become a maintenance technician. He worked for both Rockgate Management Co. and the Quality Inn, both in Colonie, NY.
Lawrence married his loving wife, Maureen, on October 23, 1999, where they enjoyed 20 years together. Larry would spend his free time watching old movies and sports, cheering on his favorite teams the Mets, Jets and New Jersey Devils. Prior to living in Schenectady, he had lived in Farmingdale, Summit and Cobleskill, NY.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Maureen Elizabeth (Murphy) DeSanto of Schenectady, his mother, Pauline (Husar) DeSanto of Summit; his brothers: John DeSanto of Schenectady, Frank (Linda) DeSanto of Louisville, KY and Anthony (Paula) DeSanto Jr. of Mexico, NY, and his sisters: Susan DeSanto of Louisville, KY, Rosanna (Albert) Utter of Louisville, KY and Patricia (DeSanto) Cioce of Bethlehem, PA.
Lawrence was predeceased by his father, Anthony L. DeSanto, in September 2012 and a sister, Barbara, who died at a young age.
The family has requested private services at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY, with burial at Summit Cemetery.
