Larry Babcock
Cobleskill- Larry G. Babcock, 63, of Anthony Circle, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at his residence.
Larry was born December 13, 1945 in Cobleskill, a son of the late William S. Babcock, and Dorothy G. (McLaury) Babcock, who survives him.
He has been a lifelong area resident, retiring from Verizon in 1996, as a lineman.
Larry was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1964 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1967.
Following retirement, he enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his two children: Lisa Babcock of St. Thomas Virgin Islands and Ryan Babcock of Raleigh, NC; his mother, Dorothy (McLaury) Babcock of Cobleskill; a brother, Rev. Warren Babcock of Decatur, NY; and two grandsons: Jahreese and Jah-paul Brooks, both of St. Thomas Virgin Islands.
Private services will be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, and Cobleskill with his brother, Rev. Warren Babcock officiating. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
