Kurt Neumann

Altamont- Kurt Neumann, 83, of Altamont Road, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany, NY, following a brief illness.
Mr. Neumann was born May 14, 1925 in Solingen, Germany the son of Heinreich and Auguste (Gruner) Neumann.
Mr. Neumann was employed as a mechanic for the United States Parcel Service, in Latham, NY. He was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Catskill, and the National Rifle Association.
His hobbies included woodworking and mechanical work. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Neumann, whom he married November 30, 1947; his daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Douglas Bartholomew of Middleburgh; and three grandsons: Jeremy, Justin, and Joshua McDermott.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home 134 River Street Middleburgh. Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be private in Town of Catskill Cemetery East.
