Kenneth Stanjones

Richmondville- Kenneth Stanjones, 88, of Trout Haven Road, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany following a brief illness.

Born January 6, 1930 in New York, NY, he was the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Matzat) Stanjones.

Following high school graduation, Ken enlisted in the U.S.Navy.  He proudly served his country from 1947 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1951.

Ken was the founder and president of Kenstan Enterprises, manufacturing locks.  He was a member of the Richmondville American Legion and Calvary Assembly of God in Cobleskill.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie (Christensen) Stanjones, whom he married March 8, 1980; his son, K.C. Stanjones of Northport, Long Island; his daughter, Robin Hurley of East Northport, Long Island; and four grandchildren: Kenneth, Kyle, and Catlyn Stanjones, and Sean Hurley.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Jay Francis officiating.  Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation preceding the service from 10 AM until 11 AM.  Burial with military honors will follow in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to City Mission of Schenectady, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12306 Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202 or to a charity of one's choice.
