Kenneth Graves

Cobleskill- Kenneth D. Graves, 91, of Hill Road, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Center in Guilderland.

Born October 27, 1926 in Cobleskill, he was the son of Harry M. and Golda (Strait) Graves.

Ken was a United States Army veteran, proudly serving our country during World War II until he received an honorable discharge in 1946.

A hard workingman, Ken was a farmer and could often be found assisting other farmers and while maintaining his own farm.  He was an avid horse lover as well.  Ken retired from NYS Dept. of Transportation where he was a truck driver.

Survivors include his daughter, Pauletta Wilson of West Coxsackie; grandson, Thomas (Michelle) Heffernan of Delmar and their children, Gavin and Gennavie Heffernan; granddaughter, Jody Heffernan of Albany and her children, Jeffrey (Brittany), Serena, and Asia; and four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters:  Marjorie Almy of Warnerville, Mildred Bogardus of Esperance, and Dorothy Miller of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews; and close friend, Thelma Nolette of Richmondville.

A funeral service will he held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mereness-Putnam funeral home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY.  Family and friends are invited for a period of visitation from 10:00 AM until the funeral service.  Burial will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery with military honors.
