Davenport Center- Kenneth J. Gault, 40, of State Route 23, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 as a result of a snowmobile accident.
Ken was born March 22, 1967 in Morristown, NJ, the son of John R. and Joyce M. (Burd) Hoffman. He was raised by his stepfather, Daniel Hoffman, as his father predeceased him when he was just a toddler. His stepfather has also predeceased him.
Ken had lived in Davenport Center for the past six years, moving from New Jersey. He was employed as a mechanic at Gary Enck's Car Store in Cooperstown, NY and was a member of the NY State Auto Dealer Assoc. Ken was a member of the Summit Sno Riders, and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed the NASCAR Races, was a Red Sox fan, and had taken up golfing this past year.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Hoffman of Richmondville; 2 sisters: Wendy Gault of Oneonta, and Denise Frith of Duanesburg; 2 brothers: Daniel Hoffman, Jr. of Summit, and Brian Hoffman of Richmondville; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Burd of Richmondville; his companion, Susan Johnson of Davenport Center; 7 nieces and nephews: Breanna Gault of Oneonta and Benjamin Gault Burgess of Oneonta, Alysha Hoffman and Brooke Hoffman, both of Richmondville, Danya Frith of Duanesburg, Daniel Hoffman III and Kimberly Hoffman, both of Summit; his puppy, Kire Joy Gault, and numerous friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Rev. Thomas Clemov of the First United Methodist Church, Oneonta, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
