Kenneth Abrams

Gilboa: Kenneth A. Abrams, 79, of Dave Brown Mountain Road died Monday February 2, 2015, at his home.

Kenneth was born on March 3, 1935 in Lynbrook, NY to Doris (Raynor) and Arthur Abrams.

Following high school, Kenneth learned the carpentry trade and eventually partnered with a friend.
He also worked on several construction jobs for the Long Island Railroad.

A true craftsman, he cleared the land and built the family homestead in Gilboa, where they have lived since 1969.

One of his greatest joys was family, especially the children.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Robert Abrams and Donald Abrams.

Kenneth is survived by his wife: Mirkil F. (Coakley) of Gilboa; daughter: Wendy (Scott) Rutherford of Gilboa; son: Donald Abrams of Gilboa; sisters: Carol Horvath of Eastport, NY, Dorothy (Michael) Alfano of Bohemia, NY, Barbara (Harry) Culligan of Levittown, PA; grandchildren: Ariel (Chris) Mashia, Joe (Jen) Ryan, all of Gilboa, Mike (Laura) Ryan, Matt Ryan, all of Middleburgh; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

At Kenneth's request, services will be at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, Middleburgh and the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, Cobleskill.
